About Me

Hi, I’m Maya, the founder of AVARA.

This brand actually started kind of unexpectedly. I’ve always loved making jewelry. In middle school and high school, I had little jewelry businesses on the side, selling to friends and family or just creating for fun. I even took jewelry-making classes in high school because I genuinely loved the process of designing something and bringing it to life with my own hands.

Over time, life got busy. Between college, studying abroad, work and internships, and everything else, I stopped making time for it. But after graduation I finally had free time again, and I started creating jewelry again, just for myself, and just for fun! It reminded me how much joy it brought me, how calming and rewarding it felt to make something from scratch.

That’s when my brother gave me the push I needed. He saw how passionate I was and told me I should turn it into something real. He even came up with the name AVARA and it just stuck.

AVARA was never about following trends or doing what everyone else is doing. It’s about slowing down, making pieces that feel thoughtful and personal, and staying connected to what inspires me, soft coastal tones, vintage details, and jewelry that feels like a little reflection of you.

This brand is personal. It brings together the things I’ve always loved and the people who’ve supported me along the way. I’m so grateful you’re here and a part of it.
